Denver Solid Wood Reversible Swing
The swing is a fixture of Indian homes, from courtyard jhulas to balcony seats where families gather in the evening. This piece keeps that comfort and nostalgia but reshapes it with clean lines, natural materials and a bold geometric backrest. It suits a living room, verandah, balcony, sit-out or garden corner.

Design

The backrest is the signature feature. Two slanting wooden panels, each filled with hand-woven cane (rattan) webbing, overlap in an opposing diagonal pattern. A slim wooden rail runs across the center, joined by small turned wooden details, which gives the back a sense of movement even when the swing is still. The effect is architectural and modern, with a light, airy texture that keeps the piece from looking heavy.

Solid, sculpted side arms curve up at both ends. They hold the backrest in place and give the frame a soft, rounded finish that is comfortable to rest against.

Materials and Craftsmanship

• Solid wood frame: A warm, honey-toned wood with visible natural grain, finished smooth. The base platform has gently rounded corners for a safe, refined edge.
• Hand-woven cane inlay: Natural cane webbing adds texture and breathability, and the open weave keeps the seat cool in warm weather.
• Brass-finish suspension rods: Slim golden rods carry the load from the seat up to the ropes. They add a touch of luxury and contrast well with the wood.
• Natural fiber ropes: Thick twisted ropes in a jute or hemp tone keep the look organic and handcrafted, with black finishing caps for a neat, polished transition.
• Upholstered seat cushion: A thick, soft cushion in a muted powder-blue fabric that contrasts with the warm wood and gold tones and adds a calm, contemporary accent.

Comfort

The wide, flat platform and generous cushion make this a comfortable seat for reading, afternoon tea, conversation or a quiet rest. The upright backrest gives good support, and the suspended design gives a gentle, soothing sway.
